Tungsten is an advanced digital media management and exploitation software development kit (SDK) for distributed applications. Typical media types include video, audio, metadata, and annotation. Standard tasks for Tungsten include playback, archival, annotation, content based search and retrieval, mosaicking, georegistration, and full dissemination and processing of any digital media.

Tungsten's client/server architecture allows for straightforward integration into existing media management and exploitation systems or can act as the foundation for new ones. Tungsten can be integrated into client/server, web, and handheld applications.

Tungsten was designed for scalability, interoperability, and DoD Motion Imagery Standards Profile (MISP) compliance. Tungsten is ideal for use within defense and homeland security applications for enhanced situational awareness; Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR); and after action review (AAR) systems.
